Nude lipstick: there's always a place for it in every makeup bag, but finding the perfect hue can be hard work. If you're finding it a challenge, then look no further than the lineup in Maybelline's Colorsensational Stripped Nudes collection, a permanent range of six shades that cover a good spectrum of skintones from light to dark. I have three of them to show you today.
Swatched on bare skin under daylight bulbs: Sultry Sand, Tantalizing Taupe, Brazen Beige
I really like the packaging of the Stripped Nudes range; the tubes are a glossy muted nude colour to differentiate them from the other Colorsensational lipstick ranges. There's also a wee strip of black lace printed alongside the shade name and number which is a very pretty and understated addition, and the label itself is tinted to roughly match the shade inside.
Small bit of trivia: this collection is known as The Buffs in the States, where there are four additional shades and the corresponding colours all have different names. Just to keep you on your toes.
Formula overview:
The Maybelline Colorsensational formula is supposed to provide 'crisper colour from pure pigments' and a 'creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar'. The three colours I received were buildable to mostly opaque colour pay off and applied smoothly, though they can emphasise uneven lip texture - particularly Sultry Sand, being such a pale shade. They're not drying but I didn't find them hydrating either. They have a mild, sweet scent with a hint of play dough, though not as prominently as Melt Cosmetics lipsticks do!

Sultry Sand
Sultry Sand is a very pale whitened nude with warm leanings. It's prone to streaking and is very unforgiving of uneven lip texture but with a bit of care I was able to get it mostly even. I actually like it more than I thought I would, the pale nude look is definitely growing on me! Sultry Sand lasts for four and a half hours on me.

Tantalizing Taupe
Tantalizing Taupe is a light rosy brown with mostly opaque colour pay off. It was really easy to apply and wore for a little over three hours. I can see myself getting a lot of use from this one!

Brazen Beige
Brazen Beige is a paler version of Tantalizing Taupe, a soft warm slightly peachier nude. It was also easy to apply and delivered mostly opaque colour opacity, clocking in four hours wear time.
What I liked:
- Buildable to mostly opaque colour pay off
- Tantalizing Taupe and Brazen Beige are very easy to work with
- Wear time ranged between just over three hours to four and a half hours
- Non drying
- Sultry Sand is streaky and can emphasise flaws
