Hey lovelies,
Maybelline have just unleashed a tonne of amazing new releases on Kiwi shores and among them is the much coveted Rebel Bloom collection! Being the lipstick junkie that I am, I have a pretty shade to show you from it today.
This collection sees Maybelline's classic lipstick cases reimagined in glossy pinky lavender, which I like a lot! The Color Sensational lipsticks all have a classic teardrop bullet.
Power Peony is a cool toned light pink with a hint of lavender which takes it away from pure baby pink territory. If you're wondering how it compares to Pink Pop from the Color Sensational Vivids, wonder no more because here is a comparison! Pink Pop is a true pink and slightly darker.
As with Pink Pop, Power Peony's formula is a little slippery and can form faint lines if your lips are pressed together. This wasn't noticeable from a normal viewing distance and didn't bother me too much. The Color Sensational formula contains honey nectar to nurture lips and I was pleased to find Power Peony lightly hydrating during the five and a half hours it lasted on me. After about two hours, the slight sheen you can see in the swatch settles to a more satin finish and there was some fading to the center of my lips but by and large, Power Peony faded away very gracefully. I'm definitely keen to check out more shades from the range now, what about you?
What I liked:
- Buildable colour payoff
- Lasts for five and a half hours
- Lightly hydrating formula
What I didn't like:
- A little slippery, causing some lines to form when lips are pressed together.
