Femme Fatale Friday: The Girl Who Cried Monster and Choose Wisely Eyeshadow Swatches & Review

Purchased by me

Hey lovelies,

I have a double feature Femme Fatale Friday for you today! The rich jewel tones of Choose Wisely and The Girl Who Cried Monster were just just begging to be used together, so that's what I did, for the July Femme Fatale Fiends makeup challenge. The theme was period/history so I took inspiration from the often opulent ballgowns of the 1860s to create this look.

And of course, I have swatches and a review of both shades as well! Both were photographed under daylight bulbs, with the left hand swatch being on bare skin and the right hand swatch layered over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy.

Femme Fatale's description is spot on, The Girl Who Cried Monster is intense, with captivating glowing green shimmer. When applied over Pixie Epoxy you tend to lose some of the teal base to the green shimmer but it still gives it a lot of depth. In the makeup look, I applied it alone on the lower lashline, building it up to the intensity I wanted, so you definitely don't need a sticky base to make the green pop. A very easy to work with shade.

Femme Fatale's description: A slightly olive-champagne shimmery shade.

At first I was going 'olive-champagne? Huh?' But actually, the more I look at it, the more I see it! The champagne gold overlaying the olive undertones. A surprisingly complex neutral - just the way I like 'em! Choose Wisely is beautiful with or without a sticky base, though for the makeup look below I chose to amplify the sparkle with some Pixie Epoxy. It's super easy to apply and blend, honestly, just go and buy it now, you won't be sorry. DO THE THING.
