I've been sharing unboxings of Lust Have It's Beauty Boxes for a while now, but did you know that they do other boxes too? In addition to the Beauty Box, there's the Eco Box and the Fashion and Beauty Box, a quarterly subscription which offers 5-7 fashion accessories and beauty products for $35AUD + $2.95 postage. Each box is tailored to the season, includes on-trend accessories and the products within are usually $100 in value. Sound like a bit of alright? Read on to hear about my Summer 2016 box!
Inside I found...
- MeMeMe Eye Inspire Classic Trio Collection RRP $15.95 AUD | Full size | Mix of colours
- Bodyography Eye Pencil - Virgin RRP $13 USD | Full size
- Bodyography Oxyplex Sheer Cheek Colour RRP $24 USD | Full size
- Casper & Lewis Kojac Sponges x3 RRP $49.95 AUD | Full size
- Coussinet necklace RRP $32.95-$49.95 AUD | Mix of designs
- The Body Shop Drops of Youth Concentrate RRP $49.95 AUD for full size | Sample
- The Body Shop Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer RRP $29.95 AUD for full size | Sample
- The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig Eau De Toilette RRP $36.95 AUD for full size | Sample
Using the minimum value of $32.95 for the necklace and not including The Body Shop samples, the listed value for the Summer Fashion & Beauty Box is just under $150 AUD, which is nothing to sniff at!
First up we have the Bodyography Oxyplex Sheer Colour, which I received in the shade Mystique. It's buildable, super easy to blend and has a very natural finish. The included puff is cute but not at all practical as it doesn't help to blend the colour, only to dab it in place. Using a proper blush brush made it a cinch to apply though.
Here I've paired Mystique with Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors in Moonstone and Rose Gold (when one is not enough!).
The other Bodyography product included in this box is a white eye pencil aptly named Virgin. This eye pencil was easy to use with a smooth and creamy texture, it didn't tug during application and it had a decent wear time. The creaminess is both a pro and a con, as it lost the fine point pretty quickly and would require regular sharpening to keep it fine enough for anything precise, wasting a lot of product.
I've used the MeMeMe trio alongside Bodyography Virgin eye pencil on the waterline, with an old Too Faced duo (Teddy Bear/Heaven) for the crease and blending.
The final makeup product in this box is the MeMeMe eyeshadow trio, which I received in 07, a suitably summery mixture of blue, teal and chartreuse. Colour pay off was just okay; not spectacular but not awful either. They swatch fairly well but tend to sheer out during application, primer or no.
Three samples from The Body Shop were included this quarter: Drops of Youth Concentrate, Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer and Italian Summer Fig EDT. I've been using Drops of Youth Concentrate sporadically and have enjoyed it so far, it sinks into the skin nicely and leaves it feeling soft, hydrated and refreshed. The Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer I haven't yet tried (bad blogger!) but I've redeemed myself slightly by trying out the Italian Summer Fig fragrance. This is a lovely option for summer as it's very light and fresh without being overly sweet. It wears close to the skin and I think it would be a lovely fragrance to layer with others, too.
This Coussinet necklace is one I can see looking fabulous on those who suit blues and love bold, statement pieces. It's not very me, but such is the luck of the draw! I'll be passing this onto a relative who'll get more wear out of it as it is a lovely necklace.
These were listed as having an RRP of $49.95AUD for three on the Lust Have It info card, but when I had a look at the Casper & Lewis website the sponges were listed at $9.95AUD each or $35AUD for eight, so I'm not so impressed with the inflated price on Lust Have It's part.
That aside, I was pleased with my first Fashion & Beauty box on the whole! If you'd like to try one for yourself, you can use the code FABLANI to take $5 off your first month at www.lusthaveit.com.au/.
