From the second I swiped on Redrum, my first Jeffree Star lipstick, I never really stood a chance. The super saturated colour pay off and easy application won me over instantaneously and even as I leaned away from the mirror to study my wickedly red pout, I was murmuring "I'm going to need more of these..."
And of course, you can see I made good on that promise, six times over (and then twice more for good measure - see the two Holiday 2015 shades I chose here). I regret nothing, except that I don't yet possess Androgyny and Gemini. Someday, my pretties. Someday.

Formula overview:
The Velour Liquid Lipsticks have a stellar formula! They're incredibly opaque, the consistency is neither too thick nor too thin, they're easy to control, non-tacky and have a quick dry down time. Once applied, they don't feather or smudge and wear for ages - everything I've wear tested from the brand so far has lasted at least five hours and some have even gone up to nine. I didn't find any of these shades drying and I cannot detect any scent or taste to them (although the website notes there is now a rootbeer float scent added to some shades).

I'm Nude
I'm Nude is described as a 'light tan-based nude'. It's just a few shades above the concealer lips look on me and could be a hard to wear shade on some skintones on its own, but paired with a lipliner or gloss it has so much potential! I do really like it and I'm especially impressed with how pigmented and easy it is to apply for a lighter shade - there's no hint of chalkiness. I'm Nude lasted five hous on me.
Celebrity Skin
Celebrity Skin is described as a 'soft brown nude with a peachy undertone'. It's a gorgeous warm nineties brown that has had everyone clamouring for it and I can see why now that I've tried it! I think it's very flattering. Love the Hole reference, too. Celebrity Skin lasted a massive nine hours on me!
Queen Supreme
Queen Supreme is described as a 'neon pastel pink'. They're not kidding about the neon, the blue tones are so strong that Queen Supreme verges on being lavender on me. It's a very fun shade to wear and again, I experienced no chalkiness (as is common in neon liquid mattes), just creamy, opaque colour pay off. Queen Supreme wore for five hours on me.
Anna Nicole
Anna Nicole is an orangey-red. The flame hue is positively aglow and it's insanely flattering on warm skintones! I cannot get enough of Anna Nicole, and the feeling's pretty mutual - she wore for five hours on me.
Redrum
Redrum is a cool toned medium-dark red. Oh Redrum, the shade that started it all! Could there be a more perfect red? I'm truly, madly, deeply in love with it. It wore for six hours on me.
Unicorn Blood
Unicorn Blood is described as a 'dark rusty matte red'. It's a lovely vampy shade I'll be rocking often as the weather continues to cool here in NZ. Unicorn Blood clocked in five hours on me.
Weirdo
Weirdo is an inky true black. This is fun to wear and one of the most opaque and easy to control black lipsticks I've used. Weirdo is eye safe too, with the brand suggesting you can also use it as a liquid liner - handy in a pinch, I suppose, if you happen to have an eyeliner brush? Or if you're super committed to the Jeffree Star makeup line. It lasted six hours on me.
