Hey lovelies,
I have a pretty palette from ZA's permanent range to show you today! If you recall the holiday sets (I reviewed both the Gold and Silver sets, click on the links to see) I had trouble with the shimmer in many of the shades refusing to adhere to the lid and providing very little colour pay off without a sticky base, so I was intrigued to see if this palette would fare better.

First things first, if you don't like shimmery eyeshadows, this isn't the palette for you! Every color in this quad is shot through with flecked golden shimmer, with the gold shade being more shimmer than base colour. It still adheres well though and makes a nice layering shade. In the look below, I used the medium brown all over the lid and inner half of the lower lashline, the darker brown on the outer V and outer half of the lower lashline, the white to blend out and highlight and the gold patted over the lid.
All of the colours apply and blend nicely with minimal fallout. GD241 may seem like your average warm neutral palette at first glance, but the dark brown is actually quite cool toned toned, so it gives a tarnished, antique look to the whole eye makeup look. I think this is an interesting enough colour to make this palette worth a try! The colour pay off tends to be soft and buildable, which I find to be typical of many Japanese and Korean beauty brands. They're easy to apply and difficult to overdo, making this a blingy yet user friendly palette although lovers of intense pigmentation may feel underwhelmed.
What I liked:
- Soft, blendable textures
- Buildable colour pay off
What I didn't like:
- Minimal fallout
- Selected pharmacies nationwide, RRP $20NZD
- Japan Mart
- Ebay
What do you think of GD241?
X
