Hey lovelies,
For once I'm not showing you something discontinued or limited edition from Femme Fatale! This beautiful eyeshadow, The Wayward Prince, was so popular during its run as a Colour of the Month in January that by popular demand it is now a permanent fixture of the Femme Fatale Cosmetics line.
I purchased a mini jar, which contains 3g of product but you can also opt for a full size 5g jar. Both options come with sifters. Alternatively you could create your own custom stacker! I like that the sifters are packaged with clear stickers over them and shrink wrap around the jar to prevent leaking in transit; some indie brands tape their eyeshadow jars shut but this often leaves sticky residue that is difficult to remove.
Swatched over bare skin (left) and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy (right), photographed under daylight bulbs.
The Wayward Prince is described as 'a mauve-rose base with strong bronze-gold overlay' which is absolutely spot on. When layered over Pixie Epoxy, the bronze sheen really dominates the eyeshadow, leaving the base colour mostly obscured, so The Wayward Prince is one I prefer to skip Epoxy for (unusual for me!). When worn alone or over primer, the mauve-rose base is stronger and the bronze-gold shimmer catches the light beautifully. I found it really easy to apply and blend. An excellent fuss-free formula, especially if you are just trying out indies!
The Wayward Prince used all over the lid (over primer)
