Hey lovelies,
Who doesn't love a good vampy lipstick in the colder months? It certainly matches my brooding mood in this wild weather we've been having of late in Wellington. I hope you are all safe and sound if you or your loved ones have been affected by the weather! This Danimer lipstick from Born Pretty Store is certainly vampy enough to match the gloomiest of days - just how I like 'em.
The packaging for this lipstick is fairly simple but functional, a lightweight plastic tube that doesn't seem incredibly sturdy but does the job. The lipstick bullet is your standard traditional slanted tip. The lipstick has a reasonably strong synthetic floral scent, which isn't my cup of tea but it's not intolerable.
Shade #4 is a deep burgundy with a satin finish. It's mostly opaque but as the formula is a little slippery I found it to be prone to streaking and patchiness. This wasn't as obvious from a normal viewing distance and could be resolved by pairing it with a matching lip pencil but of course still isn't ideal.
I was impressed that I didn't have any feathering, especially considering the slippery formula and depth of the shade. #4 had a surprisingly short wear time at four hours - dark shades usually last a lot longer as a general rule - and it was a little drying.
