Hey lovelies,
I have another holiday lipstick set to show you today! I've been curious about the Too Faced Melted lipsticks since they first launched but since liquid lipsticks tend to feather terribly on me, I held off on trying them out until Too Faced came out with a set of minis for the holiday season. Then of course, I couldn't resist picking them as part of my great holiday set binge!
Unfortunately being a limited edition set for the holidays, Melted Kisses is no longer available, however all four shades included are permanent and the full size tubes can be purchased individually.
This is my first experience with Too Faced's lip products and I'm not disappointed. The set is beautifully put together in fun and glamorous packaging. The Melted lipsticks are scaled down versions of the full size product and it's apparent that quality has not been sacrificed along the way, they feel just as sturdy as the originals.
Melted Kisses contains four of the most popular shades from the Melted line: Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Fuchsia and Melted Berry. A very nice and reasonably varied shade range.
The Melted lipsticks are scaled down versions of the full size product - 5ml/0.16 Fl. Oz. vs 12ml/0.40 Fl. Oz. - and it's apparent that quality has not been sacrificed along the way.
The Melted lipsticks come in squeeze tubes with a slanted 'precision tip' sponge applicator. I didn't have high hopes for getting a precise application with it because I'm the kind of person who likes to faff around with a lip brush, but it's actually really good. All of the lip swatches in this post were applied neat from the tube, no lip brushes involved. The sponge helps to spread the product across the lips easily while the pointed shape keeps everything inside the lines.
Swatched on bare skin in natural light
The formula on the Melted lipsticks is really consistent. Their texture is very lightweight and comfortable, I often forget I am wearing anything at all when I have one of these on! They don't dry out my lips, feather, migrate or bleed on me and have a faint, synthetic sweet scent.

Melted Nude
Melted Nude is a warm nude. It applies evenly with great colour pay off and lasts for four hours on me.
Melted Peony
Melted Peony is a pretty light pink. It wore for three and a half hours, with some of the shine becoming more muted after three hours. I found this shade clung to dry patches a little but had lovely opacity.
Melted Fuchsia
Melted Fuchsia is a whoa, mama! hot pink. I'm trying not to just fangirl all over this shade and actually tell you useful information but it's hard, guys. Look at it. Hnnnnghh. Okay. Melted Fuchsia wears for five hours on me with some staining. The shine fades after three or four hours but the colour remains strong.
Melted Berry
Melted Berry is a luscious raspberry with excellent colour pay off. Like Melted Fuchsia, it wore for five hours and stained a wee bit.
- Great colour pay off
- Non drying formula
- They do not feather, migrate or bleed
- Lightweight, comfortable texture
- Although I don't outright hate it, I would have preferred a more appealing scent than the sweet synthetic fragrance that the Melted lipsticks have, or none at all.
Have you tried any Too Faced Melted lipsticks yet? What do you think of these shades?

Melted Nude is so pretty - usually I don't like brown lipsticks that much but this looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteOooh Melted Berry and Melted Fuchsia are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteOooh you must! I'm already eyeing up more.
ReplyDeleteThey were my faves too :)
ReplyDeleteIt's quite an interesting nude, huh? Warmer and browner than I usually go for but I quite like it.
