Hey lovelies,
I have several shades from the new ZA Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge line to show you today! According to ZA, the Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge formula boasts the 'rich colour of lipstick and glamorous shine of lip gloss in one single scoop!'. I was very curious to see how ZA would marry these lip products without it turning into a hot mess, so read on to see what I thought!
Each Liquid Rouge is housed in pink and clear packaging with the product information, claims and ingredients printed on the outside.
I really like the tube style ZA went with. It's sleek and grown up, but the touch of pink on the caps adds a little fun.
I was lucky enough to be able to select three shades for consideration and tried to choose a mixture of hues from the 10 that ZA offer. They all look pretty similar though; I'd love to check out RD411 and OR221 (a cherry red and tangerine orange, respectively) in person to see if they are more saturated.
Swatched on bare skin in sunlight
Formula was consistent on all of the shades tested. They wear for around three hours before the gloss fades away and the colour disappears. The shimmery shades leave some sparkle on the lips which lingers long after the rest of the product has gone.
ZA say 'the rich lipstick colour is securely locked in by the shiny, thick gloss layer for full impact'. This is accurate; the colour, while sheerer than I'd expect given the 'rich lipstick colour' description, applies evenly without feathering, bleeding or migrating the way some liquid lipsticks are wont to do. The formula has a lovely gloss and is thick - think the consistency of MAC lipglass - but not unpleasant or tacky. There is a tackiness that only appears after the colour has gone, which I found a little odd, but not unbearable.
I found the Rich-Glam Liquid Rouge to be hydrating with a mildly sweet synthetic scent. It's comfortable to wear and easy to apply (even without a mirror - I tested!) with the curved Ultra Fit Applicator. Here's a closer look at the applicator:

RD301
RD301 is a terracotta creme with medium opacity. It has a beautiful shine and would pair well with just about anything.
See the rest of the makeup used in this look here.

PK331
PK331 is a translucent neutral pink with subtle sparkle. It's a lovely 'my lips but better' shade and would work wonderfully on a variety of skintones because it largely adds shine and flush to your natural lip colour.

RD391
RD391 is the sparkliest of the trio and is a touch pinker and lighter than PK331. They are verrrrry close though and I was very glad that I took notes while swatching when it came time to edit!
What I liked:
- Sheer, even colour
- Lasts three hours
- Curved Ultra Fit Applicator makes it easy to apply precisely and evenly (even without a mirror!)
- Moisturising
- Doesn't feather, bleed or migrate
What I didn't like:
- Leaves a slight tackiness for several hours after the gloss itself wears away
- Sparkle clings to lips after the colour has gone
- Not as pigmented as 'rich colour of lipstick' would suggest (in my opinion)
Where to buy:
- ZA stockists nationwide
- Also available around the Asia-Pacific region, see the ZA website for more information

They all looks lovely on you, especially RD301, it's the best!
