I have some really awesome lippies to share with you today! These two pretties are #1 Deep Sea Red and #2 Deep Sea Misty Rose from Skinfood's Seaweed Real Color Lip Pencil line.
These lipsticks come in pencil form with a pretty metallic cap that closes securely.
The lipstick itself is very fine tipped - not quite as thin as a lipliner, but a long way away from other pencil style lip products (such as Revlon Balm Stains, Etude House Pop Sticks etc). This allows a really precise application but does mean that application can take a little longer.
Pigmentation is absolutely fantastic, particularly Deep Sea Red. Look at that gorgeous cherry hue!
Deep Sea Red is a vivid cherry red. It's a few shades lighter than MAC Riri/Ruby Woo but it's definitely in the same vein.
A FOTD featuring Deep Sea Red - full details here.
Deep Sea Misty Rose is a soft peachy nude with yellow leanings. The closest shade in my collection is MAC Please Me (and Jordana Matte Pink Passion, which is a dupe for Please Me) but Please Me is much pinker. Just sing out if you'd like a comparison :)
FOTD with Deep Sea Misty Rose - more details over here.
There are 6 shades in the Seaweed Real Lip Color line - #1 Deep Sea Red (Matte), #2 Deep Sea Misty Rose (Matte), #3 Deep Sea Beige (Glossy), #4 Deep Sea Orange (Matte), #5 Deep Sea Coral (Glossy) and #6 Deep Sea Peach (Glossy). After trying Deep Sea Red and Deep Sea Misty Rose I'm really tempted by Deep Sea Orange - these lipsticks have the most velvety, comfortable texture of all the mattes I own.
What I liked:
- Fantastic pigmentation
- Pretty packaging
- Smooth application - Deep Sea Red in particular glided on like butter
- No lipliner required! And no feathering in sight.
- Great wear time - they didn't last through oily food, but did last 6 hours + easily through snacking and drinking without the need for touch ups.
- Deep Sea Misty Rose was a little harder to apply evenly due to the size of the pencil
- They don't twist up - they'll need to be sharpened, which inevitably leads to product wastage :(
Will you be trying the Seaweed Real Color Lip Pencils?

Oh my gosh, I love the Deep Sea Red! Do they feel drying? I think these are going to be on my next Roseroseshop purchase list! ^^

DeleteThey looks so good on you! Deep Sea Red is a must have omgosh!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Deletehi, i've got one but it' can't twist up :( Can you show me how to get the lipstick inside ^^
ReplyDeleteThey're not meant to twist up unfortunately :( You'll need to sharpen it with a cosmetic pencil sharpener.
