My Beauty Picks For Summer | RY Summer Edit

Provided for review

Summer has been playing rather coy in New Zealand lately. After a cluster of storms and cold snaps, we've finally had some scorchingly hot sunny days alternating with muggy, overcast ones - it's altogether rather dizzying trying to keep track of what the weather's doing, but at least I can find some consistency in my beauty routine!
Aussie website RY (Recreate Yourself) have put together a comprehensive edit of beauty must haves for summer that will have you covered from top to toe and they were kind enough to let me pick out some of my favourites to share with you.

Lulu & Lipstick Lash Curlers review

These Lulu & Lipstick Eyelash Curlers ($29.95AUD) leave my old unbranded curlers in the dust, both in the style stakes and functionality. Decked out in gold crystals, they look pretty luxe and they do a great job of curling my lashes effectively. Often in the summer months, I like to stick to light foundation, a cream blush and mascara on just my top lashes for a polished, pretty school-run-friendly look. This lash curler will be great to give my lashes a little more oomph!

Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator, Pixi by Petra Glow Mist Review

Starting a summer's day with a freshly cleansed and exfoliated face is always invigorating but the Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator ($42AUD) makes it even more so with its light orange and cedarwood scent. It uses jojoba beads to provide a gentle but effective scrub (so no need to worry about plastic microbeads clogging up the environment for the sake of your scrub!) and is incredibly creamy and luxurious feeling. My skin feels so soft and hydrated after using this!

I've heard so many great things about Pixi by Petra from UK beauty bloggers, plus I love a good hydrating mist so I couldn't have been more excited to try the Pixi by Petra Glow Mist ($30AUD). It contains argan oil and propolis, both skin-loving ingredients and is incredibly refreshing to spritz on throughout the day. I use mists like this to take any powdery appearance away from my makeup and add a bit of dewiness, or just to cool down and hydrate my skin any old time.

Moroccanoil review

Moroccanoil Treatment Oil and Hydrating Styling Cream Pack ($49.50)
I've been using and loving argan oil for several years but I'd never tried the OG brand before - and boy, I can see what the fuss is about now! Moroccanoil smells incredible, it's really lightweight and is easily absorbed into my thick, medium-length hair. As I regularly colour and heat-style my hair which leads to some inevitable damage, I use it to restore shine and softness to my hair without weighing it down. If you have finer hair, there's a Light version of the oil which may suit you better.
In this pack, you'll find a full-size original Moroccanoil Treatment, two sample vials (one of the original and one of the Light), a headband and a Hydrating Styling Cream, all housed in a generously sized travel bag. Pretty darn good for the price and definitely a set I'll be using a lot to keep my hair smooth and sleek in all this humidity!

I also received some handy free samples in my order, including Dermalogica Soothing Eye Make-Up Remover, Model Co Double Sided Facial Wipes, both of which I'm really looking forward to trying, and a mini nail file. RY send free samples with every order and ship internationally; express shipping to New Zealand starts at $9.95AUD which isn't too shabby at all! I'm definitely going to have to place another order soon, the TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes mini liquid lipstick set is calling my name.

What are your summer beauty must haves?
