Lust Have It October 2015 Review

Onwards with the Lust Have It review catch up! October wasn't without its hiccups but it was great to see them mostly getting back on track. After the September shipping notification advised that LHI already had the products for October ready to go in their Warehouse, I was a little surprised to receive an email from them at the end of October saying there had been an error and the expected items had been incorrectly marked as 'arrived'. However all was not lost, as they did have stock of some November items and chose to include them instead to get the boxes out on time. A bonus item was also promised (the chocolate candies pictured) along with a $10 discount coupon for the FAB or Eco boxes.

In case you haven't heard of or tried Lust Have It before, they're an Aussie based beauty subscription box company that promise to send out 5 to 6 samples per subscription box for $19.95AUD with a $2.95 postage charge (postage was previously free). The contents are a surprise, with Lust Have It aiming to provide you with an assortment of items you might not necessarily have picked up yourself (but will hopefully enjoy!).

In my October box there was...
  • Hair&Me Hair Rejuvenation Treatment RRP $19.95AUD (90ml)
This is a really thick oil treatment, containing coconut, sweet almond, macadamia and almond oil. The instructions for use are fairly involved; you need to apply to damp hair and leave it on for a minimum of 45 minutes before you can rinse it out. Then you need to double shampoo it and condition as normal. It feels SO gross going on and the kids had a great time giggling at my greasy noggin, but the results are lovely - super soft hair with some restored shine, and there's no greasiness left over, which I was worried about!
  • Bioderma Sensibio Light Soothing Cream for Sensitive Intolerant Skin RRP $32.99AUD for full size (sample size provided)
This soothing cream sounds lovely for those with sensitive skin types. I'm guessing you could use it as a general moisturiser, but as I have a lot of skincare open at the moment, it'll be a while before I can give this a try.
  • Atkins Endulge Chocolate Candies RRP $9.00AUD for a pack of 5
This was a non beauty bonus item that my boys were very excited to see! Atkins Chocolate Candies are like M&Ms but with way less sugar - only 1g in the whole bag! I'm not a fan of M&Ms so I let Mike and the boys go nuts on them. Mike wasn't too keen on the taste but the boys loved them.
  • Flormar Nail Enamel RRP $12.00AUD
  • Flormar Eyeshadow RRP $30-50AUD
  • Lust Have It! Natural Highlighter in Sunset Strobe | RRP $29.95
  • Your Tea Skin Magic Tea RRP $35.00USD (for a box of 60).
In the September box there were supposed to be six but instead there was only one. In October they included a note on the card apologising and saying they were including the other five, but again, only one sachet arrived. Finally the remaining sachets arrived in the November box, but what a lot of mucking around! That being said, I haven't tried them as I'm really not a tea person but may pass them onto my sister.
Lust Have It Sunset Strobe Highlighter Review

Lust Have It Sunset Strobe Highlighter Review

This month marks the introduction of one of Lust Have It's in house products, a highlighter called Sunset Strobe. It's a very pretty pale gold with buildable colour pay off and a subtle sheen. I noticed it is very powdery in the pan, kicking up a lot of excess product pretty much the second your brush touches it, but this doesn't translate on the skin.
Despite liking the highlighter itself, I don't think it's at all worth the $29.95AUD RRP. The packaging arrived scuffed and scratched and feels flimsy, plus the powderiness causes a lot of product to be wasted.

Flormar Matte Terracotta M104 eyeshadow review

Flormar Matte Terracotta M104 eyeshadow review

The next cosmetic item I received is the Flormar Matte Terracotta eyeshadow in the shade M104, which is a lovely, softly shimmered pale pink (decidedly not matte). I used it on the inner corner in the makeup look above, and found it very easy to apply and blend, with a nice soft but not powdery texture.
There was a huge assortment of Flormar makeup that subscribers could receive in this box: the Eyeliner Pen, Mono Eyeshadow, Matte Terracotta Eyeshadow, Longlasting Lipstick, Pretty Compact Eyeshadow, Lip Gloss, Multi Effect Powder, Palette Eyeshadow, or Blush, with an RRP of $30-50AUD across the range. I'm wondering if the Matte Terracotta eyeshadow has been discontinued in this packaging, as it was pictured in a black compact on the Lust Have It site and on Ebay listings, and the compact I received is grubby, like it's been sitting in the bottom of a box at one of those makeup clearance bucket sales for months on end. I like this eyeshadow and will keep using it but I'm definitely not impressed at receiving two brand new products in downright dirty condition. I am very fortunate to receive this subscription free from Lust Have It's PR, but if I were a paying subscriber this would have me strongly considering cancelling my subscription.

Flormar 118 nail polish swatch

Who needs a time machine? Just pop on a few coats of Flormar 118 and you'll be instantly transported to the eighties, where this nail polish belongs. Jokes aside, the formula for this polish was a little runny and sheer but otherwise easy to control, with the brush covering the nail well. I used three coats, no topcoat.

On the whole I liked most of the products included in the October box, but the condition of some of the items was a let down. I hope this is something Lust Have It will remedy in the future.
