Hey lovelies,
Today I have a super coveted shade from the newly released in New Zealand MAC Osborne collection - it's Dodgy Girl! To be honest I'd written this off as something I'd never be able to pull off, until I saw Lexie from Nail Girl's swatches - she makes everything look wearable! That girl has a lot of lipstick lemmings to answer for, guys. She also made me buy MAC Punk Couture, and BANG Cosmetics Lala is currently sitting in my Etsy cart. Let's not even talk about her polish swatches (spoiler alert: they're perfect).
Anyway, Lexie turned me around on this one and boy am I glad of that because I LOVE it!
Couldn't resist ;)
The pink side to this lavender lippy really comes out to play against the pure purple of this backdrop!
If you're a long time MAC fan, you may remember the Dame Edna collection from 2008 which has a similar colour scheme to the Kelly lipsticks. I pulled out one of my Dame Edna lippies, Coral Polyp, so you can see them side by side. I really love the packaging of both collections!
Dodgy Girl is a matte, and my lips are not in the best shape right now, sorry! Application was fabulous though, it's creamy for a matte and glided across my lips without tugging or skipping. As you can see it does emphasise flaws a little but it's not so noticeable from a distance. I did find it be prone to slight demarcation lines but again, you can't really tell unless you're standing really close peering at my lips, in which case, what are you doing?! Personal space, guys!
I put on Dodgy Girl minutes after buying it at 9:30 on Monday morning and it lasted through a meal and drinks until 2pm and another meal. There was minimal dryness and a strong even pink stain was left after all the lipstick had gone.
FOTD details on Sunday :)

This is so pretty, the colour is lovely and I'm pretty obsessed with the packaging too. I'd love to see some more of your limited edition MAC products - I've only been 'into' makeup for a year or so and so I don't know the history of MAC collections that much.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lena! That sounds like a fun idea, I will see what I can do :D
