Hello Kitty Lipstick - Koala Berry, Pinking Of You & Red My Lips Swatches & Review

I have a super cute lippy to show you today! This is Koala Berry from the Hello Kitty line available at Postie stores in New Zealand. I picked this up on clearance for $2 so run to your Postie if you like this! They've been having a buy one get one 50% off on everything storewide for a while now so there's no better time to pick it up :)

Koala Berry is a medium glossy berry hue and it's mostly opaque. The formula does the job but isn't anything to write home about. It glides on easily enough but when applying it has a somewhat slick, plasticky texture and is overly fragrant. The slickness doesn't translate on the lips though, and this lipstick lasted a bit over three hours before disappearing with a meal. It was minimally drying but did not feather or bleed, which is always a bonus with a shade like this! I really really wish these lipsticks weren't scented, although the smell does fade after application. I'm not the greatest at describing scents but I'd describe it a very dated floral :p

Pinking Of You

Pinking Of You is a light blue based pink. It clings to imperfections a little as you can see in the swatch above and takes a little babying to apply evenly. I really like it though - you may recognise the below FOTD from my new 'About me' section in the sidebar!

Red My Lips

Red My Lips is a super bright pink based red. I love this one! It's actually a really close dupe for Lime Crime Retrofuturist which is handy as Retrofuturist is one of my favourite red lipsticks of all time. This doesn't feather or bleed either and is more opaque than the other Hello Kitty lipsticks reviewed today.

What I liked:

• Good colour pay off
• Doesn't feather or bleed
• Super cheap!
• Cute packaging

What I didn't like:

• Somewhat drying
• Plasticky slippery texture when applying
• Strong, dated sweet floral scent (others may enjoy this scent however!)
