Femme Fatale Anniversary Trio 2016 Swatches & Review

Hey guys! I'm rather late with this one, so please forgive me. The Femme Fatale 2016 Anniversary Trio is out now, and it has a rather beautiful back story.

This trio marks the fifth anniversary of Femme Fatale and each nail polish in the set takes its name from a street that Sophie from Femme Fatale lived in with her family growing up. They're inspired by her history and memories, along with her relationship with her father, who was instrumental in founding and supporting Femme Fatale as it grew. It's a beautiful and touching tribute, one that I think die-hard fans of Femme Fatale will especially enjoy.

These three nail polishes are only available as a set, which retails for $28AUD on the Australian website and $29USD on the US site. They'll only be released this one time, no restocks, so once they're gone, they're gone!

Swatch notes: I do not use base coat for my swatches and top coat is only used where noted. Everything was photographed using a three point lighting set up under daylight bulbs.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - La Scala, 3 coats

La Scala is a cool-toned mauve-grey with green-to-pink shimmer. If you adore cool, dusty colours, this will be right up your alley! The colour shift in the shimmer is very visible in real life and you'll find that more or less of the pink will show in different lighting conditions. I found La Scala a little streaky to work with and you may find a fourth coat necessary, depending on your application style.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - Penrose, 3 coats

Penrose is a soft lavender with green overlay and a linear holo effect. My favourite from the trio, the green shine is so strong and compliments the holo beautifully. It built up easily in three coats.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - Rapallo, 3 coats

Rapallo is a dark teal crelly. I don't think I remember Femme Fatale doing a solid colour creme or crelly before, do you? Rapallo bubbled on me, which isn't a problem I've ever had with Femme Fatale before, nor do I typically experience it, so I'm not quite sure what happened there. Perhaps allowing each coat to dry completely before proceeding to the next one would help? Regardless, it's a lovely colour and wonderfully inky.

The Femme Fatale 5th Anniversary presale ends today on the Femme Fatale Cosmetics website, which ships worldwide. They also launched a US based website a few months back which will come in handy for American & Canadian shoppers. As I said before, this trio is only being released this one time, so once it's gone from stockists, that's it! It may be available from the following stockists, depending on whether each stockist chooses to supply it:

  • Shiro Cosmetics (USA)
  • Color4Nails (USA)
  • Live Love Polish (USA)
  • Beautometry (USA)
  • Rainbow Connection (UK)
  • Hypnotic Polish (EU)
  • Beauty So Fly (SNG)
  • Dope Nails (Russia)

Did you, or will you pick up this trio?

X
