I continue to be embarrassingly behind on reviewing the Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinets! Not for lack of love by any means - instead, the selection of colours pushes me out of my neutral comfort zone, which I've become steadily more entrenched in as lip swatching sessions become more and more my forte. Sometimes it's easy to forget that putting on makeup doesn't mean I need to keep my eyes neutral to compliment a variety of lip colours, because I don't have to do a lip swatching session everytime I put on makeup. I definitely get a bit of tunnel vision where that's concerned!
Weird habits side, let's get back to what I'm supposed to be talking about - the July 2015 Vanishing Cabinet, which was named Drop Dead Gorgeous and themed around the lovely ladies of horror. Vampira, Morticia Addams, Elvira, The Bride of Frankenstein and Lily Munster are all paid homage to with a selection of four eyeshadows and a lipgloss. All of these were limited edition and exclusive to this subscription, but you never know what might pop up in the Notoriously Morbid Buy/Sell/Trade group or a blog sale.
The Vanishing Cabinet is a monthly subscription service from US based indie brand Notoriously Morbid. The amount of products included seems to vary, but there's typically three to five products in each with a guest indie brand occasionally included and sometimes a sticker that matches the pop culture based theme too. It's $12.90USD within the US and $17USD for international (including shipping), so a very reasonable monthly treat! All swatches are applied to bare skin (on the left) and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy (on the right) using a patting motion and photographed under daylight bulbs.

Cara Mia
Cara Mia is a pale matte grey with subtle copper and red shimmer. The matte base darkens over a sticky base, which is normal for matte formulas, although the change is not as noticeable on the lid as it is on the arm swatch. I found it really easy to work with and I love it paired with She's Alive! This shade is named for Gomez Addams' pet name for his wife Morticia.

She's Alive!
She's Alive! is a dark, steely grey with heavy green shimmer. It's named, of course, for The Bride of Frankenstein, she of the unforgettable coif, who was played by Elsa Lanchester in the 1935 film. This eyeshadow is a beauty, especially over a sticky base. I'm not usually one for smokey eyes, but I LOVED wearing this.

Countess of Shroudshire
Countess of Shroudshire is a soft, misty grey-green with a very subtle pink sheen. The shimmer really comes to life over a sticky base, I loved it as a glowing pop of colour on my lower lashline in the look below. A dream to work with. Shroudshire is the fictitious county in England that Herman Munster's noble family hail from, making Herman and Lily Munster the fifth Earl and Countess of Shroudshire respectively.
For this look I used Cara Mia on the inner half of the lid, She's Alive! on the outer half of the lid, Countess of Shroudshire on the inner half of the lower lashline and I'm Restless (from the November 2015 Vanishing Cabinet) on the outer half of the lower lashline. I also used the LORAC Pro Palette for the crease and highlight shades. The false eyelashes are Ardell Demi Wispies.

Mistress of the Dark
Mistress of the Dark is a violently bright pink with strong purple shimmer, named for the often imitated but never equaled Elvira. This was the only shade in this VC that I wasn't so keen on, it applied a little patchily on my arm, although it worked perfectly on the lid. I guess I'm just not as game as Elvira when it comes to pink eyeshadow!
I've used heaps of Notoriously Morbid shades for this look - Mistress of the Dark on the centre of the lid, Nearly Headless Nick on the inner third, Philosophy of Time Travel on the outer third and lower lashline, Head Key on the inner corner and He's Going Through Changes on the crease. Not my best effort, but live and learn! The lashes are once again, Ardell Demi Wispies.

Goddess of Horror
Goddess of Horror is inspired by Vampira, the fifties horror show host with the impossibly waspish waist. It's a sheer pinky red gloss with even colour pay off and it lasts a few hours on the lips without feathering, though I did experience some gathering in my lip lines.

Conclusion
Overall I really enjoyed the July 2015 Vanishing Cabinet, especially the first three shades! Notoriously Morbid always do an amazing job of interpreting their theme and I love the wide variety of themes they choose.
