I have the new Serious Business collection by Pretty Serious to share with you today! If that collection title didn't have you humming 'it's business, it's business time!', well, I just don't know what to do with you. This collection has some rather excellent, tongue-in-cheek names that will be familiar lingo to my fellow nail polish addicts. For the uninitiated:
No Buy = A period in which you try not to buy any more nail polish (or whatever you're abstaining from). May or may not be broken for Pretty Serious haulage.
Dupe = A match for an existing nail polish.
HTF = Hard to find.
Destash = The purging of the nail polish stash.
Free Sample = Self explanatory!
Epic Haul = A glorious volume of purchases.
Swatches are done without base coat or top coat unless otherwise noted and photographed under daylight bulbs.

No Buy
Pretty Serious - No Buy, 2 coats
No Buy is a rich ruby red with gold glassfleck shimmer. Whether you're a fan of red nail polish or not, I have a feeling No Buy will capture your heart - who could resist such a classic beauty? Perfectly smooth and opaque in two coats.

Dupe
Pretty Serious - Dupe, 3 coats + Essie Good to Go
Dupe is a dark teal jelly absolutely packed with glitter and purple shimmer. I spot purple, blue, gold, holo silver and green hexes of varying sizes, alongside a smattering of small green shards. Magical. Honestly, it looked opaque after two coats, but I added a third for more depth - I just love the jelly sandwiched glitter effect! As glitter-packed as it is, Dupe does dry with a bit of texture and is on the thicker side, though still manageable. I used Essie Good to Go top coat to make it shine, but Pretty Serious make a gel effect top coat called Plump Up The Volume which sounds ideal for sealing in thirsty or textured glitters.

HTF
Pretty Serious - HTF, 4 coats
HTF is a black jelly laden with green to orange flakies and a small amount of blue ones for good measure - you can see one just hanging out on my middle nail. It's definitely on the sheer side, which is usually a necessity to allow the flakies to show in these kinds of polishes so if that bothers you I'd recommend layering it over a black creme for a completely opaque look. I haven't yet tried it, but Pretty Serious offer a one coat black creme called Abscence which I've heard good things about.

Destash
Pretty Serious - Destash, 2 coats
Destash is a vibrant pink with strong violet shimmer. It just goes to show, a polish doesn't have to be complicated to be drop dead gorgeous! I'm truly in love with this one. Wonderfully opaque and glossy in two coats. I saw it with a matte top coat in Instagram too and it looked beautiful - oddly I don't have a matte top coat, so will have to fix that!

Free Sample
Pretty Serious - Free Sample, 4 coats
Free Sample is a soft marshmallow pink with fine blue and gold micro shimmer. Who doesn't love a free sample?! Especially one as pretty and delicate as this. I needed four coats to even it out, though I think it would fare better over a ridge filling base coat. It self leveled without any issues and wasn't thick on the nail.

Epic Haul
Pretty Serious - Epic Haul, 2 coats
Saving my favourite for last! Epic Haul is a medium forest green shot through with pink shimmer that shifts to gold at certain angles - the shift was much more visible during day to day wear than my pictures show, especially in evening light. I swatched Epic Haul last and couldn't bring myself to take it off even to apply base coat for a full mani (tsk tsk!) but it actually held up great for the better part of a week with no staining whatsoever. Green lovers NEED this polish. You can see some visible nail line in my pictures at two coats, but this wasn't noticeable at all in person.
