The Vanishing Cabinet is a monthly subscription service from US based indie brand Notoriously Morbid. The amount of products included seems to vary, but there's typically three to four products in each and occasionally six in special VCs. It's $13.25USD within the US and $20USD for international (including shipping), so a very reasonable monthly treat! You can sign up for the wait list here or purchase a one month trial (while available) here. Overstock is occasionally posted here.
All eyeshadow swatches are applied to bare skin (on the left) and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy (on the right) using a patting motion and photographed under daylight bulbs.
The theme for the August 2016 VC was of course, Legally Blonde! Man, I LOVE this movie and am so overdue a rewatch. I remember setting up our VCR to record it so I could play it my birthday party when I was 14 or so - back in the days of grainy taped movies and makeover parties where you and your friends all shoddily applied sparkly blue eyeshadow to each other with sponge applicators and were thrilled with your efforts! Although I was more partial to pastel green, myself. Legally Blonde was and still is the perfect movie for those occasions. I can't wait to show it to my daughter when she's old enough, it's so empowering! Do you love this movie too?
For this look, I've used Walking Felony on the center of the lid, Just A Bratwurst on the lower lashline, The Wicca Wonder on the outer third of the lid, It's the Riche on the inner third, Done and Right Into The Woodchipper on the crease, He's Going Through Changes to blend out, It's the White Hats on the browbone and Gimme Some Sugar on the inner corner. The lashes are Ebay faux mink in the style A15.

Frigid B*tch
Frigid B*tch is a medium taupe brown with blue sheen that becomes the star of the show when applied over an adhesive base. The blue twinkles away merrily without one too though, as demonstrated on my lower lashline in the look below. I wish I'd tried Frigid Bitch out sooner, I love it!
Batallions of Sorrow on inner half of lid, Frigid Bitch on outer half of lid and lower lashline, Gypsy Curse on crease, He's Going Through Changes for transition, So Goes My Nation on browbone, The Lady Amalthea on inner corner. The lashes are Ebay faux mink in the style A15.
Walking Felony
Walking Felony is a coral-red with blue shimmer and pink sparkles. It's so beautiful and vibrant, performing just as well without a base as it does with one. The name is such a crackup, too!

Bend & Snap
Is there any move more iconic than the Bend & Snap?! This lipstick tribute is a medium orange-leaning coral (though it seems to pull more pink on other customers) and won my heart as soon as I saw it. Definitely my favourite in this VC. It has a very smooth formula, excellent opacity and lasts just under six hours on me without being drying or crumbly.
Bonds of Sisterhood
The last product for this VC is a solid perfume, Bonds of Sisterhood. It's described as 'a light and sweet scent with soft citrus and berry notes, a touch of butterscotch, and faint hints of amber, black pepper, and patchouli'. Unfortunately, not being much of a perfume user, this isn't my thing, but it smells pretty and I've no doubt other customers really enjoyed it.
This VC was such a nostalgia trip! Did you love it as much as I did?
