There's something about a YSL lipstick that just makes it special. The weightiness of the gold packaging, the soft close cap, the ultra smooth formula that glides across your lips... these beauties absolutely radiate luxury and you must try at least one. And with Yves Saint Laurent releasing a new campaign to celebrate four of their most iconic shades, there's no better time! You can check out the campaign video below:
The four iconic shades are Le Rouge, Le Fuchsia, Le Orange and Rosy Coral, a vivid and bright selection. Housed in golden boxes (a nightmare to photograph, but I'll forgive them for being so pretty!) and luxe metallic packaging, the Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks are definitely eye catching both in the tubes and on the lips.
Swatched on bare skin under daylight bulbs: Le Rouge, Le Fuchsia, Le Orange, Rosy Coral
Formula overview:
They have a smooth and opaque formula with some slip, making application a breeze and the wear very comfortable. It's not so slippery as to cause feathering or unevenness though. Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks apply with the initial glossiness of a MAC Amplified, then settle to a satin finish over time. Most stain the lips slightly.
YSL's strong mango scent you'll either love or hate - I'm definitely a fan but everyone's different, so you may wish to take a sniff at your nearest YSL counter before purchasing to see what you think.

Le Rouge
Le Rouge, described as 'pure and fearless' is a bright red with subtle warm tones. It wears for six hours on me without feathering or drying out lips. I can't go past a great red like this, everyone needs one (or a dozen) in their lipstick collection :D

Le Fuchsia
Le Fuchsia is described as a 'shocking rose, like couture silk'. It's a bright fuchsia pink with slightly cool leanings which wore for just under six hours on me without feathering or being drying. There was some staining with this shade. This shade of pink is definitely a go to for me!

Le Orange
Le Orange is described as an 'exotic rich red-orange'. There's an inherent brightness to Le Orange that blows similar shades in my collection out of the water - perhaps it's the semi-glossy finish that adds to the impact? Either way, it's absolutely gorgeous and apparently a favourite of Kourtney Kardashian. Wear time was pretty exceptional for this one, lasting for just over seven hours with a bit of wear to the centre of my lips. The colour was mostly intact though and there were no feathering/drying issues here either.

Rosy Coral
Rosy Coral is a bright, almost neon coral which has achieved cult status after being tipped as the shade worn by actress Jun Ji Hyun on Kdrama My Love From Another Star. It began selling out worldwide and continued to do so for a full year after the drama had finished, so if you love this colour you'll want to snap it up! Rosy Coral wears for four and a half hours on me, which was the shortest wear time within the shades tested today, but still not too shabby.
