Hey lovelies,
Collection have a new mascara on shelves at Countdown which promises 'ooh-la-la lashes and a false effect'. My lashes are naturally on the straight and stumpy side and I'm a big fan of Collection's Does It All mascara so that sounded pretty good to me!
Big Fake Curves comes in a cute pink and black tube with circus style typography that I really like. There are two options, Black and Ultra Black, although honestly I can't say I notice much of a difference in appearance between the two. I tried wearing one on each eye and all that I observed was that Ultra Black was more prone to clumping.

Big Fake Curves mascara features an hourglass shaped silicone brush. It's dauntingly large, although my eyes are on the smaller side - those with larger eyes or thicker lashes may find it easier to wield. I find that I need to be very careful not to hit my lids with the brush, but it is very good at grabbing all of my lashes and providing definition. It also gives my stubbornly straight lashes some lift and curl (no lash curler was used for the pictures below).
I get semi buildable volume with my upper lashes but on my lower lashes the formula doesn't really build without clumping a little and falling tiny balls of product which flick into my eyes - it's all rather odd and not something I recall experiencing with another mascara before! But for all that, it doesn't flake or smudge over the course of wear. I like it for those days when I'm just throwing on the bare minimum to feel a bit more polished for errands - light foundation, cream colour on cheeks and lips and this mascara on just the upper lashes.

What I liked:
- Defines lashes
- Curls and lifts lashes
- No flaking or smudging
- Ideal for wearing on upper lashes
What I didn't like:
- Ultra Black is prone to clumping
- Can form little balls of product when layered on lower lashes, which have a tendency to flick into my eyes!
- The large brush is a little too large for my eye size
