If you like your beauty products to multi-task, I have a wonder product for you today! Trilogy's cult favourite Everything Balm has recently been reformulated to pack it even more full of antiseptic and healing ingredients, making it a staple item in our household.
What is Everything Balm? The clue's in the name - it can be:
- Lip balm
- Heel balm
- Hand cream
- Melting massage oil
- Nappy cream
- Face & body moisturiser
- Soothing salve
- Split-end smoother
- Cuticle balm
- Eyebrow tamer
- Just about anything else you can think of!
Trilogy's packaging is absolutely beautiful and highly giftable. It's available for purchase in two sizes, a large 95ml tub ($39.90) and a more handbag friendly 45ml tub ($24.90). I have the 95ml tub, which our family has been using a lot (in fact, I scooped out a generous amount into a separate pot to use as a nappy cream), and it's not running out anytime soon! The screw-top tin is very sturdy so you can chuck it in a handbag or nappy bag without worrying about it being ruined.
The texture of Everything Balm is a rather solid balm which melts quickly on contact with skin so that it can be spread easily. It's deeply hydrating without being too greasy. I can't stand greasy moisturisers! Here's how I use Everything Balm:
- Nappy cream. Our 9 month old, Patrick, has a flare-up of nappy rash every time he's teething and Everything Balm helps to soothe and heal his delicate skin.
- Moisturiser. Although I generally prefer a more lightweight, lotion-type moisturiser, Everything Balm does a great job in a pinch and hydrates my skin without breaking me out.
- Hand cream & cuticle balm. This is probably my favourite use for Everything Balm! It is excellent for dry hands and cuticles and helps my hands survive polish swatching sessions (where the constant polish remover can be really rough on your skin and nails).
- Lip balm. Everything Balm really does a great job of moisturising my lips and speeding up natural exfoliation to keep my lips smooth. I find that when I prep with this for a swatching session, my lips stand up to a lot more than they otherwise would.
- On eczema. Both Noel and I get a random eczema patch on the inner part of our left arms. Exact same place. Weird, huh?! This balm does a nice job of soothing our skin, though it's not quite as potent as a targeted eczema cream.
The one thing I'm not keen on is Everything Balm's scent. It's loaded with plenty of skin-loving ingredients, like rosehip, papaya, echinacea, jojoba and more (full ingredients list here), but the one that stands out most strongly to my nose is citronellol. It's not intolerable, but it's not my favourite, which is why I prefer to skip Everything Balm as a moisturiser and I choose other lip balms for day to day, reserving Everything Balm for when I need intense lip repair.

Oh wow, this packaging is so nice. I have an older version and absolutely love it. I feel the need to go and smell it now, to check that scent you refer to - maybe it's gone with time? I apply the lip balm every single night and it always leave my lips lovely.
